Armchair Exercise, Ball Games & a Boogie at the Old Rectory Care Home.

Who says keeping fit can’t be fun? At The Old Rectory Care Home, we’ve found the perfect way to keep bodies moving and spirits soaring—with a little help from a tennis ball and our favourite tunes!

Residents recently took part in a cheerful armchair exercise session, using soft balls to stretch, reach, and engage those all-important muscles—all while sharing smiles and laughter. The gentle activity is a great way to boost circulation, coordination, and flexibility without overexertion.

And just when we thought we’d cooled down… the music came on! A bit of light dancing got everyone tapping their toes and swaying along, proving that mobility exercises can be both meaningful and marvellously enjoyable.

At The Old Rectory, we believe movement is medicine—and it’s even better with a dash of fun and friendship!
