In an uplifting celebration of companionship and love, Fairways Care Home hosted its annual Pet Day, inviting residents to enjoy a day filled with joy. The event saw an assembly of furry, scaly, and shelled animals, bringing smiles and laughter to everyone involved.

The care home was bustling with excitement as residents and staff gathered to meet an adorable array of animals: Dogs Buddy, Tyson, Quinn and Ted, Percy the cat, Brian the tortoise, and Boyo the bearded dragon, who intrigued everyone with his majestic demeanour.

“The joy that these animals bring to our residents is immeasurable,” said Connie, the activities coordinator at Fairways. “Pet Day is not just about having fun; it’s a therapeutic experience that enhances the well-being of everyone here. It’s truly heartwarming to see the joy from interacting with these animals.”

Pet therapy, a regular feature at the home, has been shown to significantly uplift the spirits of residents, reducing stress and increasing social interaction. “Watching our residents light up as they interact with the animals is always a highlight of my job,” shared Connie.

Fairways Care Home continues to be a beacon of innovative care, demonstrating the positive effects of integrating animals into therapeutic activities. Residents are already looking forward to another joyful day with their animal friends.
