Making Waves; Shelagh’s Sponsored Swim Success Features Online!

We’re thrilled to share that Mountside Care Home recently graced the pages of Sussex World for an incredible sponsored swim led by our very own Shelagh, the homes activity coordinator, in support of the Mountside Residents’ Fund

During her swim, Shelagh conquered 64 lengths — the equivalent of a full mile — raising an inspiring £551 (and counting!) for our Residents’ Fund This fund is essential in bringing special experiences to our residents, such as in-house entertainment, day trips, bespoke activities, and more — all tailored to individual interests.

Shelagh shared her motivation for taking on the challenge:

“I wanted to do something personal to give back to the people who make my job so special. Swimming a mile was tough but knowing it would directly benefit our residents kept me going. I’m so grateful to everyone who sponsored me!”

The Sussex World feature is a proud acknowledgement of Shelagh’s effort and Mountside’s values of creativity and compassion. Donations are still open via reception — every pound helps bring more moments of delight and connection to our community.

Well done, Shelagh — and thank you to everyone who has contributed!
