We transform the lives of our residents and watch them blossom under our care

Happy home,happy residents

At the Old Rectory Care Home you can be sure that our fully trained, experienced, and professional staff have all of your care needs met. The lifestyle on offer at our care home means that residents lead active, fulfilled, and fun lives. Our care home provides a caring, safe, respectful and engaging environment – one where we focus on maintaining our resident’s dignity whilst helping them develop and grow. In fact, our staff take great pride in some of the transformations that they witness. When some residents arrive with us, they can seem withdrawn and distant. Our caring staff get to know each and every resident as an individual and encourage them to get involved with activities within the home, allowing them to make new friends and become part of the Old Rectory community. We love to watch our residents blossom before our eyes. Here’s a look at some of the areas that really matter to us and our residents:

Our caring team take the time to engage and really get to know each individual. In a short space of time, loved ones are amazed at the changes that have taken place. Just like us, they see residents blossom and grow and discover renewed happiness.
Here’s a look at some of the key areas where we pride ourselves on delivering an outstanding experience to our residents:

food & drink

For us, mealtimes are an important part of each and every day. At the Old Rectory Care Home, we do more than just cater for our residents’ nutritional needs. What we offer is a choice of foods that are truly tasty and mealtimes that are a social experience. Our residents come together and enjoy their time with great food and engaging conversation.
Using fresh produce, our meals are home-cooked and freshly prepared every day. With three meals served daily, our residents really do savour the food that is on offer as well as enjoying the dining experience as a whole.

activitiestailored to all

At the Old Rectory Care Home we inject fun and life into all that we do. We have regular visits from musical entertainers and performers, as well as a resident favourite – Pets as Therapy. There is also the chance to get hands-on and try out some baking or gardening. Our lovely gardens make the ideal location for some great barbecues, raffles and social events. If our residents prefer some downtime and a chance to simply relax then they can make use of our extensive audio, DVD, video and book library.

our facilities

The Old Rectory Care Home delivers all that it has to offer in a comfortable, homely environment. Our home is warmly decorated throughout and residents are able to add their own furniture to their rooms if they desire. This allows for an added personal touch and room that is truly theirs. We have 35 beds in total and they all boast either en-suites or private washing facilities.

Our residents benefit from two communal lounge, a library and dining room. What really adds to these are the conservatories that overlook the patio. The outdoor space that we have is one that our residents thoroughly appreciate and enjoy spending many sunny days relaxing outside.

local area

Residents and families enjoy day trips out to our local attractions, including afternoon shopping sprees in the village of Dymchurch where residents pick up gifts, groceries, flowers, seaside treasures, ice creams, sweets and treats.

The local seafront always proved popular with residents with Golden beaches, Amusements / fairground, Romney Hythe & Dymchurch Light Railway, Dungeness Light house and Bird reserve. We’re also close to Port Lympne Zoo, Martello tower, Dover castle, Rare Breeds Centre, Wartime collection and Aero Museum, Hythe swimming pool so there’s plenty to do with family on their visits.
