Teddy Bears’ Picnic Brings Smiles, Memories, and a Touch of Magic to Fairways Care Home

Fairways Care Home recently hosted its very own Teddy Bears’ Picnic;  and what a wonderful success it was.  Residents, families, and staff gathered for a delightful afternoon filled with cuddly companions, sweet treats, and bear-themed fun.

Our picnic tables were brimming with adorable bear-shaped sandwiches, homemade biscuits, and refreshing drinks, all enjoyed in the company of some very special furry friends. The air was filled with laughter and that unmistakable feeling of joy that comes from sharing simple pleasures together.

Beyond the fun and food, the picnic offered a valuable reminiscence opportunity. For many residents, teddy bear picnics are a cherished tradition that evokes fond memories – whether from childhood adventures with a favourite bear or happy afternoons spent picnicking with their own young children. These moments of looking back not only bring comfort but also spark wonderful conversations and connections between residents, staff, and visiting families.

We’re so grateful to everyone who joined us and helped make the day so special. It was an afternoon that reminded us how the simplest things such as a cuddly bear, a tasty sandwich, a sunny smile  can create the warmest memories.
