A Joyful Afternoon at Blacklands Church
Mountside care Home We had a fantastic time at Blacklands Church’s fellowship afternoon, where music, laughter, and warm conversations filled the room.
The brilliant Allsorts Choir treated us to a wonderful performance, lifting everyone’s spirits with their beautiful harmonies and infectious energy.
What made the afternoon even more special was the chance to connect with the kind-hearted members of the church group, who always make us feel so welcome and valued.
These moments of friendship and fellowship truly mean the world to our residents.

Mountside Marks VE Day with Remembrance
VE Day at Mountside Care Home was a moving and memorable celebration, beautifully blending reflection with joyful festivity.
The afternoon began with a powerful reminder of the past, as residents listened to the iconic wartime speeches of Winston Churchill. The stirring words set a reflective tone, honouring the courage and resilience of those who lived through the Second World War.
Next came a lively WW2-themed quiz, sparking cherished memories and a healthy dose of friendly competition among residents. Laughter, shared stories, and a few tricky questions made it a standout part of the day.
But the highlight was undoubtedly the heart-warming performance of “Songs That Won the War”, delivered by Mountside’s very own activity coordinators Kimberley and Shelagh. Their musical tribute had everyone waving flags, singing along, and even dancing—transforming the lounge into a joyful scene straight out of 1945.
And of course, no VE Day celebration would be complete without some classic British treats. A stunning Union Jack cake took centre stage, served with comforting cups of tea—the ultimate wartime morale booster and still a firm favourite today.
It was an afternoon filled with gratitude, music, and togetherness—a truly fitting tribute to a generation that gave so much.

Their music brought a wonderful sense of nostalgia to the occasion, marking the day in true 1940s style.
A special thank you goes to Chelsie and Paula, who prepared a beautiful tea spread featuring sandwiches, crisps, sausage rolls, and of course—freshly baked scones with jam and cream. It was a perfect tribute to a traditional British tea!
It was a day to remember as we honoured the bravery and sacrifice of the past while celebrating togetherness in the present.

St George's Day Celebrations in Hastings
Mountside Care Home Brings History to Life for St George’s Day Celebration
Residents at Mountside Care Home were treated to a vibrant celebration of English heritage this St George’s Day, with a day full of storytelling, creativity, and cherished traditions.
The festivities kicked off with a captivating storytelling session recounting the legendary tale of George and the Dragon. The dramatic retelling sparked imaginations and plenty of smiles as we were transported back in time to the days of knights, dragons, and heroic deeds.
Following the story, the fun continued with a spirited Best of British quiz, putting everyone’s knowledge of national icons, inventions, and pop culture to the test. There were lots of laughs as teams battled it out in friendly competition.
In a nod to the traditions of medieval England, we then took part in a creative activity designing our own coat of arms. The arts and crafts session encouraged personal expression and was filled with colour, imagination, and thoughtful conversation about family, values, and history.
The celebrations ended on a high note with a heartfelt sing-along to Land of Hope and Glory, filling the home with music and stirring memories. “I had a lovely time,” said Anne, one of the residents. “The songs brought back so many happy memories.” Her sentiment was shared by all, as staff and residents alike enjoyed a meaningful day of connection and celebration.
Mountside Care Home’s team was delighted to see everyone so engaged and uplifted. “It’s days like these that remind us how important it is to celebrate together,” said a member of the activities team. “Bringing joy through shared stories, music, and laughter is what makes our home feel like family.”
Easter Joy Takes Flight at New Romney Home
Easter Joy Takes Flight at Fairways Care Home with a “Mini Chick Olympics”!
Fairways Care Home was full of laughter, chocolate, and a touch of competitive spirit this Easter as we came together to enjoy a fun-filled day of celebration – including the home’s very own Mini Chick Olympics!
The highlight of the day was the delightful race of the wind-up chicks. We cheered on the adorable racers as the fluffy competitors wobbled and whirred their way to the finish line. The room was filled with giggles and excitement as everyone watched to see which chirpy champion would cross the line first.
Alongside the chick-tastic entertainment, we tested the seasonal smarts with a light-hearted Easter quiz, sharing stories and learning a few fun facts along the way. It was a lovely moment of togetherness, encouraging conversation and sparking plenty of smiles.
Of course, no Easter would be complete without some sweet treats – and the team at Fairways made sure everyone enjoyed a selection of tasty Easter chocolates to round off the celebrations in the most delicious way possible.
“We love celebrating with our care community,” said a member of the Fairways team. “Days like Easter bring everyone together and remind us how special shared moments can be.”
The Mini Chick Olympics might be over for another year, but the joy it brought will certainly stick around a while longer.
Relaxing in Pure Style With a Baileys

After an energetic dance session that got toes tapping and spirits soaring, here at The Old Rectory Care Home we took a well-deserved break in the most delightful way — with a smooth tot of Baileys in hand and plenty of shared smiles.
The lively dance session, filled with movement, music, and laughter, brought a burst of energy to the home as we joined in for some joyful rhythm and fun. But as the music slowed down, it was time to relax and savour the moment together.
In true Old Rectory style, the team treated everyone to one of their favourite ways to unwind — a little glass of Baileys served with a warm smile. Sipped slowly over good conversation, the creamy tipple was the perfect reward for an afternoon well spent.
“Dancing is always a hit here, but it’s the wind-down that makes it extra special,” said one member of the care team. “There’s something so comforting about sharing a drink, reminiscing, and simply enjoying each other’s company.”
From high-energy moves to relaxed moments of reflection, the day was a perfect blend of joy and calm — just the way we like it.

Celebrating Easter at ACI Care
Celebrating Easter at ACI Care: Faith, Family, and Festivity.
At ACI Care, we believe in the power of celebration. Marking seasonal events like Easter isn’t just about fun (though there’s plenty of that!)—it’s about connection, community, and honouring the values and traditions that mean so much to everyone we care for and support.
Easter holds a special place in the hearts of many, and for many who work and have made one of our care homes, home, it’s an opportunity to reflect, rejoice, and relive fond memories.
That’s why, across our care homes in Kent and Sussex, Easter was embraced as a time to celebrate faith, family, and the changing season.
For those who wished to engage with their spiritual side, our care homes offered the opportunity to participate in Easter services. Whether through a visiting minister or reverend, streamed service, or quiet moments of reflection with our team, we ensured those who value this aspect of Easter had the opportunity to connect with their faith in a meaningful way.
But Easter at ACI Care was also a time for togetherness. Families and friends were warmly invited to join in the celebrations across the care homes, creating a vibrant atmosphere filled with love and laughter. Seasonal refreshments, like slices of traditional simnel cake, were served with a smile, alongside cups of tea and the occasional chocolate treat, of course!
Music is a must. From live performances to sing-along classics, our homes came alive with joyful sound. Easter crafts—like the ever-popular bonnet making sessions—brought creativity and colour to celebrations, sparking stories and smiles in equal measure.
These celebrations are more than just events, they’re moments that matter. They spark conversation, create shared experiences, and honour the diverse lives and beliefs of those ACI Care care for.
At ACI Care, we’re proud to make these moments possible. Because everyone deserves to feel special, celebrated, and connected—especially at Easter.
