Easter Joy Takes Flight at New Romney Home
Easter Joy Takes Flight at Fairways Care Home with a “Mini Chick Olympics”!
Fairways Care Home was full of laughter, chocolate, and a touch of competitive spirit this Easter as we came together to enjoy a fun-filled day of celebration – including the home’s very own Mini Chick Olympics!
The highlight of the day was the delightful race of the wind-up chicks. We cheered on the adorable racers as the fluffy competitors wobbled and whirred their way to the finish line. The room was filled with giggles and excitement as everyone watched to see which chirpy champion would cross the line first.
Alongside the chick-tastic entertainment, we tested the seasonal smarts with a light-hearted Easter quiz, sharing stories and learning a few fun facts along the way. It was a lovely moment of togetherness, encouraging conversation and sparking plenty of smiles.
Of course, no Easter would be complete without some sweet treats – and the team at Fairways made sure everyone enjoyed a selection of tasty Easter chocolates to round off the celebrations in the most delicious way possible.
“We love celebrating with our care community,” said a member of the Fairways team. “Days like Easter bring everyone together and remind us how special shared moments can be.”
The Mini Chick Olympics might be over for another year, but the joy it brought will certainly stick around a while longer.
Relaxing in Pure Style With a Baileys
Baileys and big smiles for The Old Rectory is the ultimate unwind after an energetic dance session.
After an energetic dance session that got toes tapping and spirits soaring, here at The Old Rectory Care Home we took a well-deserved break in the most delightful way — with a smooth tot of Baileys in hand and plenty of shared smiles.
The lively dance session, filled with movement, music, and laughter, brought a burst of energy to the home as we joined in for some joyful rhythm and fun. But as the music slowed down, it was time to relax and savour the moment together.
In true Old Rectory style, the team treated everyone to one of their favourite ways to unwind — a little glass of Baileys served with a warm smile. Sipped slowly over good conversation, the creamy tipple was the perfect reward for an afternoon well spent.
“Dancing is always a hit here, but it’s the wind-down that makes it extra special,” said one member of the care team. “There’s something so comforting about sharing a drink, reminiscing, and simply enjoying each other’s company.”
From high-energy moves to relaxed moments of reflection, the day was a perfect blend of joy and calm — just the way we like it.
Cheers to the perfect way to unwind and celebrate the everyday!
Celebrating Easter at ACI Care
Celebrating Easter at ACI Care: Faith, Family, and Festivity.
At ACI Care, we believe in the power of celebration. Marking seasonal events like Easter isn’t just about fun (though there’s plenty of that!)—it’s about connection, community, and honouring the values and traditions that mean so much to everyone we care for and support.
Easter holds a special place in the hearts of many, and for many who work and have made one of our care homes, home, it’s an opportunity to reflect, rejoice, and relive fond memories.
That’s why, across our care homes in Kent and Sussex, Easter was embraced as a time to celebrate faith, family, and the changing season.
For those who wished to engage with their spiritual side, our care homes offered the opportunity to participate in Easter services. Whether through a visiting minister or reverend, streamed service, or quiet moments of reflection with our team, we ensured those who value this aspect of Easter had the opportunity to connect with their faith in a meaningful way.
But Easter at ACI Care was also a time for togetherness. Families and friends were warmly invited to join in the celebrations across the care homes, creating a vibrant atmosphere filled with love and laughter. Seasonal refreshments, like slices of traditional simnel cake, were served with a smile, alongside cups of tea and the occasional chocolate treat, of course!
Music is a must. From live performances to sing-along classics, our homes came alive with joyful sound. Easter crafts—like the ever-popular bonnet making sessions—brought creativity and colour to celebrations, sparking stories and smiles in equal measure.
These celebrations are more than just events, they’re moments that matter. They spark conversation, create shared experiences, and honour the diverse lives and beliefs of those ACI Care care for.
At ACI Care, we’re proud to make these moments possible. Because everyone deserves to feel special, celebrated, and connected—especially at Easter.
Mindful Mystery at Fairways Care Home
Where Are We? A Mindful Mystery at Fairways Care Home
At Fairways Care Home, we’re always looking for creative ways to keep minds active, curious, and engaged—and our recent activity, Where Are We?, did just that!
We became detectives for the day, putting our cognitive skills to the test with a fun and interactive brain-teaser designed to spark imagination and memory.
Using specially designed print-out sheets filled with pictures of iconic landmarks, everyday scenes, and mysterious places, participants were invited to guess: Where are we? Each image became a conversation starter, triggering memories, storytelling, and lots of thoughtful discussion as we pieced together clues and explored possibilities.
This wasn’t only about guessing locations—it was about connecting. Activities like Where Are We? encourage cognitive stimulation by prompting residents to recall past experiences, process visual information, and use logical thinking to make connections. It’s a fun, low-pressure way to keep mental pathways sharp and build confidence through participation.
Some residents were reminded of past holidays, others of childhood scenes or local landmarks. The room filled with stories, shared memories, and laughter as residents worked together to solve each visual puzzle. The social aspect added another layer of benefit—bringing people together in a relaxed, inclusive environment.
At Fairways, every activity is designed with purpose. Whether we’re enjoying a gentle game, reminiscing over tea, puzzles like this one is always to support the overall wellbeing of those who live here; in mind, body, and spirit.

Snakes and Ladders Fun
A Giant Game, a Giant Smile: Snakes and Ladders Fun at The Old Rectory!
At The Old Rectory Care Home in Dymchurch, we rolled the oversized dice and let the fun begin—because here, fun comes in size extra-large!
Our recent game day brought residents together for a supersized version of the classic board game Snakes and Ladders, and it turned out to be so much more than just a game—it was a whole adventure!
Activities like these provide the perfect opportunity for everyone to connect, bond, and simply enjoy each other's company in a relaxed, joyful environment. These shared moments create friendships and help everyone feel part of a vibrant, supportive community.
With the giant board laid out across the floor, it really got us moving as we stretched to roll the big dice, and making gentle movements to navigate their way to the finish. Snakes and Ladders also brings a boost to the brain. Remembering the rules, counting spaces, and planning our next steps. It’s a day when we come together to honour the remarkable women who have shaped our lives with their love, kindness, and wisdom. This year, our Mother’s Day celebration was truly unforgettable, filled with love, laughter, and a sprinkle of friendly competition!
The festivities began with an air of excitement as residents joined in a light-hearted and fun Mother’s Day themed word scramble. It sparked plenty of laughter and friendly rivalry as everyone tried to unscramble the tricky words. The activity brought out the competitive spirit in the most joyful way, reminding us how good it feels to come together and share a laugh.

Using twigs, tissue paper, and a lot of creativity, residents crafted a symbolic tree adorned with heartfelt messages and cherished memories of their mothers. It was a beautiful way to honour the incredible women in our lives.
We were especially moved by Susan’s contribution – a lovely photo of her mum placed carefully among the handwritten notes. The Memory Tree now stands proudly as a reminder of the unbreakable bonds and lasting love that mothers bring into our lives.
As we reflected on the day’s events, it was impossible not to feel grateful for the love and wisdom that mothers bring. Whether they are with us in spirit or by our side, their influence remains a guiding light in our lives. This Mother’s Day reminded us of the importance of celebrating those we hold dear, cherishing every memory, and creating new ones together.
